Own reliability and certification of navigation, communication, automation, and electronic control systems (ECDIS, GMDSS, DP/USV control where applicable). Lead troubleshooting, upgrades, and cyber/comms compliance for mixed fleet and USVs.
Maintain certification and operability of nav/comms/automation systems.
Diagnose and resolve electronic faults; manage spares and firmware.
Plan upgrades/retrofits (e.g., ECDIS, DP/USV control) and cyber readiness.
Support USV deployments (links, sensors, control systems, redundancy).
Maintain technical records, configs, and drawings.
Interface with Projects to define electronic scope and readiness.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education (Min.) B.Eng. Electronics/Automation/EE or equivalent
Experience 7–10 years marine electronics (GMDSS/ECDIS/radar/automation) with superintendent exposure
Certifications GMDSS maintainer or OEM courses (preferred); cyber awareness
Technical Nav/comms/automation, configuration/version control, diagnostics
Behavioral Analytical, documentation rigor, vendor management
Industry Standards: IMO (SOLAS/MARPOL/ISM/ISPS), Flag State & Class rules, STCW; IMCA for offshore operations; ISO 9001/14001/45001; Company HSSEQ Management System
