Role Description The Assistant Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Ajman Emirate, United Arab Emirates. This role supports the finance department with daily accounting tasks such as recording transactions, processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with payables and receivables. The Assistant Accountant helps prepare reconciliations, supports month-end and year-end closing activities, and assists in generating basic financial reports. The role also includes maintaining organized financial records, supporting internal and external audit requirements, and coordinating with other departments to resolve accounting queries. The Assistant Accountant is expected to follow company policies, adhere to relevant accounting standards, and contribute to accurate and timely financial operations.
Qualifications
Strong foundational accounting knowledge, including double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and basic financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP or accounting systems), MS Excel, and other office productivity tools. Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking with attention to detail. Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and support corrective actions. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with finance colleagues and other departments. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of basic UAE financial regulations and tax concepts is an advantage. Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant accounting experience or internship is beneficial.
