Role Description A Personal Bodyguard is responsible for protecting individuals from physical threats, security risks, unauthorized access, harassment, and other potential dangers while maintaining a discreet and professional presence. The role involves assessing security risks, developing protective measures, monitoring surroundings, coordinating secure movements, and responding appropriately to emergencies. Key responsibilities include providing close protection for private individuals, executives, public figures, high-profile clients, families, and other protected persons; conducting security assessments of residences, workplaces, venues, travel routes, events, and other locations; identifying potential threats, vulnerabilities, suspicious activities, and security concerns; developing and implementing personal protection and security procedures; maintaining constant situational awareness and monitoring surrounding environments; planning secure transportation routes, arrival and departure procedures, venue access, and movement arrangements; conducting advance checks of locations, entrances, exits, parking areas, meeting points, accommodation, and event venues; controlling access to protected areas and verifying authorized personnel where required; coordinating with drivers, security teams, venue personnel, law enforcement, event organizers, household staff, and other relevant parties; accompanying protected individuals during business meetings, public appearances, travel, shopping, events, social activities, and private engagements; maintaining discreet communication with security personnel and designated contacts; responding quickly and appropriately to emergencies, security incidents, medical situations, accidents, evacuations, and other unexpected events; assisting with emergency evacuation and relocation procedures; monitoring vehicles, routes, parking areas, and transportation arrangements for potential security concerns; maintaining security equipment, communication devices, protective equipment, emergency supplies, and other assigned resources; preparing incident reports, security logs, threat assessments, and daily activity records; maintaining strict confidentiality regarding the personal information, movements, schedules, relationships, residences, business activities, and security arrangements of protected individuals; supporting residential security and household protection where required; coordinating security arrangements for domestic and international travel; monitoring changes in threat conditions and adjusting protective measures accordingly; maintaining professional conduct and respecting privacy, personal boundaries, and client preferences; participating in security briefings, emergency preparedness activities, physical fitness programs, first-aid training, and professional development; and continuously improving protective procedures, communication protocols, risk-management practices, and emergency response capabilities. The Personal Bodyguard is expected to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, physical readiness, sound judgment, situational awareness, reliability, and calm decision-making under pressure. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, attention to detail, disciplined conduct, and the ability to respond effectively to changing security situations. Qualifications Diploma, bachelor's degree, or relevant professional training in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Military Studies, or a related field is advantageous. Professional close-protection, executive-protection, personal-security, or security training is beneficial. Strong understanding of personal security, threat assessment, risk management, surveillance awareness, access control, and protective procedures. Strong situational awareness and ability to recognize unusual behavior, potential risks, and developing security concerns. Excellent physical fitness, alertness, coordination, and stamina. Strong communication, interpersonal, observation, and decision-making skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused during stressful or rapidly changing situations. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, emergency response, evacuation procedures, and basic medical assistance is advantageous. Familiarity with security communication systems, GPS/navigation technology, CCTV systems, access-control systems, emergency equipment, and other security technologies. Knowledge of risk-assessment software, digital security platforms, GPS tracking, artificial intelligence, threat-monitoring systems, and modern protective-security technologies is beneficial. Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personal, business, travel, and security information. Ability to work closely with drivers, security personnel, household staff, event organizers, law enforcement, venue management, and other stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, security plans, travel arrangements, incident records, and operational details. Valid driver's license and advanced defensive-driving or protective-driving training are advantageous where transportation responsibilities are required. Recognized close-protection, executive-protection, first-aid, emergency-response, or security certifications are considered advantageous. Strong understanding of professional ethics, privacy, legal requirements, and appropriate use of security procedures.
