The ROLE

• Write and structure UI copy for government digital services (web + mobile) in Arabic and English.
• Turn research, blueprints, and requirements into content models, flows, and production-ready copy.
• Build and maintain content patterns in the Dubai Design System, contributing back to it rather than writing one-offs.
• Work in Figma with designers to write copy in context, checking against layouts and component limits.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers through hand-off, implementation, and QA.
• Write to WCAG 2.2 AA standards — plain language, alt text, error messaging, and screen reader support.
• Present and defend content decisions to government stakeholders, including legal, policy, and service owners.

Skills

Essential: UX Writing & Content Strategy

• Bilingual (Arabic/English) with RTL and Arabic UI experience.
• Expert in microcopy, content models, voice/tone, and edge/state/error copy.
• Comfortable maintaining a shared content library — not just writing one-offs.
• Creates clear, structured documentation that others can use without guidance.

Essential: Figma & Design Fluency

• Strong Figma skills — auto layout, components, variants, and content constraints.
• Understands component-based design and how it affects copy decisions.
• Can propose content changes with awareness of design/engineering implications.

Writing Craft

• Portfolio shows clarity, structure, and restraint — not just nice sentences.
• Can justify copy decisions, not just say it reads well.
• Detail-oriented, with good judgment on when precision matters.

Ways of Working

• Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Takes feedback and turns it into meaningful action.

Nice to Have

• Public sector or enterprise product experience.
• Accessibility work beyond compliance (e.g., assistive tech testing).
