Accounts Executive / Finance Assistant Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and structured Accounts Executive / Finance Assistant to manage day-to-day accounting functions, maintain financial accuracy, and support monthly closing routines. In this mid-to-junior finance position, you will work closely with Finance Managers, Senior Accountants, Internal Auditors, and Operational Department Leads to handle general ledger accounting, manage accounts payable and receivable pipelines, and execute account reconciliations. You will be responsible for reviewing vendor invoices, tracking receivables and overdue collections, preparing journal vouchers, auditing employee expense reports, and assisting with tax filing preparations. Responsibilities include running bank and intercompany reconciliations, managing monthly ledger entries, preparing balance sheet schedules, maintaining clean digital audit trails, and assisting in financial reporting. Success in this position requires strong numerical precision, solid double-entry bookkeeping knowledge, working familiarity with modern accounting ERP systems, strict adherence to internal financial controls, and a proactive attitude toward meeting tight closing deadlines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce; progress toward professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or ICAEW) is preferred. General Ledger & Double-Entry Accounting: Strong grasp of core financial accounting principles, accruals and prepayments, fixed asset depreciation, general ledger posting, and monthly trial balance reconciliations. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Hands-on experience in 3-way invoice matching, processing payment batches, managing vendor ledgers, issuing customer invoices, and overseeing credit control/debt collection. Bank & Account Reconciliation: Proven ability to execute routine bank statement reconciliations, petty cash audits, credit card reconciliations, and intercompany account balancing to resolve discrepancies promptly. Accounting Software & ERP Proficiency: Practical experience using popular accounting software or enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle Net Suite, Quick Books, Xero, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics). Spreadsheet & Financial Analytics: Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, conditional formatting, and variance analysis). Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Basic understanding of local corporate tax, withholding tax, and indirect tax requirements (such as VAT, GST, or Sales Tax) and statutory compliance standards. Audit & Internal Controls: Familiarity with audit preparation workflows, maintaining orderly documentation, and supporting internal/external audit queries with clear supporting schedules. Communication & Vendor Relations: Professional written and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with external auditors, bank representatives, vendors, and internal departments. Professional Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strict ethical standards regarding confidential financial data, strong time-management skills under month-end deadlines, and an organized problem-solving approach.
