Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions.
Supervise and review accounting entries prepared by the accounts team.
Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales, purchases and expenses.
Prepare and review daily, monthly and annual financial reports.
Perform bank, cash, credit card and supplier reconciliations.
Monitor supplier balances, payments and outstanding invoices.
Manage petty cash and daily cash transactions.
Prepare and review VAT calculations and VAT returns in accordance with UAE requirements.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare financial statements and management reports.
Monitor inventory-related accounting and reconcile stock values where required.
Ensure proper documentation and accurate filing of accounting records.
Coordinate with auditors, suppliers, banks and management.
Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
Support management with financial analysis and accounting-related decisions.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the supermarket/retail industry.
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and accounting practices.
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
Experience handling high-volume sales, purchases, cash and supplier transactions.
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and team-management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Candidates with supermarket/retail accounting experience will be strongly preferred.
Candidates available to join immediately will be preferred.
