Job Details

  • Supervise day-to-day electrical installation and construction activities at power project sites.

  • Execute electrical works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.

  • Supervise installation of electrical equipment, cables, cable trays, conduits, panels, switchgear, transformers, earthing, lighting, and associated systems.

  • Coordinate electrical works related to substations, power distribution systems, control rooms, and other project infrastructure.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, layouts, and installation details.

  • Coordinate with Electrical Engineers, QA/QC, HSE, civil teams, subcontractors, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution.

  • Monitor manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements to achieve planned productivity and project milestones.

  • Ensure proper cable laying, glanding, termination, tagging, dressing, and testing as per approved procedures.

  • Supervise installation and connection of electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, busbars, and other electrical equipment.

  • Ensure proper installation of earthing and lightning protection systems in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams for pre-commissioning checks and electrical testing activities.

  • Monitor work progress against project schedules and report delays, constraints, and resource requirements to the Site/Project Engineer.

  • Coordinate inspections with the QA/QC team and ensure timely closure of inspection observations and non-conformities.

  • Ensure all electrical materials and installations comply with approved specifications and project quality requirements.

  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with approved work procedures, drawings, safety standards, and schedules.

  • Maintain proper records of daily activities, manpower, materials, equipment, inspections, testing, and work progress.

  • Ensure safe isolation, lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, and other electrical safety procedures are strictly followed.

  • Conduct or participate in toolbox talks and ensure workers use appropriate PPE and safety equipment.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions at the project site.

  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical installation issues and coordinate corrective actions with engineers.

  • Support snagging, rectification, testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.

  • Ensure completed electrical works are properly protected and maintained until project handover.

  • Perform other duties related to electrical construction and site supervision as assigned by the project management team.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Key Skills

    • Strong knowledge of electrical construction and installation practices.

    • Hands-on experience with power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, cables, and electrical equipment.

    • Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.

    • Good understanding of cable installation, termination, testing, earthing, and electrical equipment installation.

    • Knowledge of electrical testing and pre-commissioning activities.

    • Strong manpower, subcontractor, and site coordination skills.

    • Good knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements for electrical works.

    • Ability to identify technical and site issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.

    • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work effectively under project deadlines and challenging site conditions.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Diploma, ITI, or relevant technical qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Trade.

    • 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical construction and site supervision, preferably in power, substation, utility, industrial, or EPC projects.

    • Experience in power substations, transmission/distribution, or electrical infrastructure projects is preferred.

    • UAE/GCC project experience will be an advantage.

    • Familiarity with UAE electrical standards, utility requirements, and site safety practices will be preferred.
