Role Description The Transportation Assistant / Specialist role at News Today Press is a part-time, hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the individual supports daily transportation operations, including coordinating vehicle schedules, arranging pick-ups and drop-offs, and ensuring timely movement of staff, equipment, and materials for news assignments and events. The specialist assists with preparing and processing transport-related documentation and invoices, maintaining accurate records, and tracking costs. Responsibilities include liaising with internal teams and external providers, handling routine inquiries, monitoring compliance with company policies and local regulations, and flagging issues that may impact safety, timeliness, or budget. The role also involves maintaining organized files, updating logistics information in internal systems, and contributing to process improvements that support efficient and reliable transportation services. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders. Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to handle inquiries professionally and support staff and partners with transportation-related needs. Candidates should possess Invoicing and basic administrative skills to prepare, review, and process transport-related billing and documentation accurately. Candidates should possess Transportation and logistics coordination skills to schedule, track, and optimize vehicle usage and routes. Candidates should possess Organization Skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Beneficial qualifications include familiarity with local transport regulations in the UAE, basic knowledge of safety standards, and experience in logistics or operations support. Proficiency with standard office and collaboration software, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are highly desirable. A diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
