About the Job Role Description A Cruise Operations Assistant supports the daily operational activities of cruise vessels and cruise-related services. The role involves assisting with passenger services, operational coordination, schedules, documentation, onboard activities, shore arrangements, and communication between different departments to help ensure smooth and efficient cruise operations. The position is suitable for candidates with experience in hospitality, tourism, travel, passenger services, logistics, event coordination, or administrative support. Previous experience in cruise operations or passenger transportation is an advantage. Key Responsibilities Assist the cruise operations team with daily administrative and operational activities. Support the coordination of passenger embarkation and disembarkation procedures. Assist with preparing passenger lists, schedules, manifests, operational documents, and related records. Verify passenger information and ensure relevant documentation is organized accurately. Assist with coordinating boarding procedures and passenger flow. Provide professional assistance to passengers regarding schedules, facilities, activities, and operational information. Respond to passenger inquiries and direct complex matters to the appropriate department or supervisor. Assist with coordinating onboard activities, entertainment schedules, excursions, and passenger services. Support the preparation and distribution of daily schedules, notices, activity information, and passenger communications. Coordinate with onboard departments to ensure operational information is communicated accurately. Assist with shore excursion arrangements, transportation coordination, meeting points, and activity schedules. Communicate with tour operators, transportation providers, ports, vendors, and other external partners when required. Assist with monitoring excursion schedules and reporting delays or operational changes. Support the coordination of luggage handling and passenger transfer arrangements. Assist with organizing passenger arrival and departure logistics. Maintain accurate records of passenger requests, operational activities, incidents, and service information. Assist with preparing operational reports and daily activity summaries. Monitor scheduled activities and notify relevant teams of changes or delays. Assist with coordinating meeting rooms, event spaces, equipment, and supplies for onboard activities when required. Support conferences, private functions, group activities, entertainment programs, and special events onboard. Assist with inventory checks for operational supplies, passenger materials, uniforms, equipment, and other assigned items. Report missing, damaged, or malfunctioning operational equipment to the appropriate supervisor. Assist with maintaining organized operational files and documentation. Support communication between hotel operations, guest services, entertainment, food and beverage, housekeeping, security, and other departments as required. Assist with handling passenger complaints and operational concerns professionally. Escalate safety, security, medical, or other urgent matters immediately to the appropriate qualified department. Follow established emergency, safety, security, and passenger-care procedures. Assist with maintaining high standards of passenger service and operational efficiency. Maintain confidentiality regarding passenger information, travel arrangements, operational schedules, and company information. Assist with preparing documentation for port calls and other operational activities when required. Monitor operational schedules and assist with ensuring activities are completed according to established timelines. Support inspections, audits, and operational reviews when required. Follow company procedures, maritime safety requirements, vessel policies, and applicable UAE regulations. Perform other cruise operations, passenger service, and administrative support duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred. Diploma or bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage. Previous experience in cruise operations, hospitality, tourism, passenger services, travel, logistics, or event coordination is preferred. Basic understanding of passenger service and travel operations. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to communicate professionally with passengers, colleagues, vendors, and external partners. Strong attention to detail when handling passenger information, schedules, and operational documentation. Good time-management and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple operational tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and follow-up abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional when handling delays, schedule changes, or passenger concerns. Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with reservation, passenger management, hospitality, or operational systems is an advantage. Ability to work effectively with multicultural teams and international passengers. Professional appearance and customer-focused approach. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, public holidays, evenings, nights, and extended hours when required. Ability to work onboard vessels, at ports, terminals, and other operational locations when required. Good physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Fluency in English is preferred; knowledge of Arabic or additional languages is an advantage. Knowledge of UAE cruise terminals, tourism services, and maritime operations is an advantage.
