Role Description The Engineer – Transformer and Reactors is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This position is responsible for designing, specifying, and reviewing transformer and reactor systems for power distribution and power system projects. Day-to-day tasks include developing technical drawings and calculations, performing electrical design and system studies, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations. The engineer collaborates with project managers, procurement teams, and site engineers to support installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment. The role also involves preparing technical reports, evaluating vendor proposals, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices and project execution.

Project: DEWA Transmission Projects – 132k V & 400k V Substations and Associated Works We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in power transformers and reactors for high-voltage transmission projects. Key Responsibilities:Conduct engineering studies related to power transformers and reactors and provide technically supported recommendations. Prepare transformer and reactor scopes of work for transmission-project tenders. Review tender amendments, technical queries, bidders’ offers, deviations, clarifications, and technical recommendation reports. Review design drawings, technical documents, BIM models, material submittals, and vendor approvals. Ensure compliance with DEWA specifications, approved qualification methodology, project scope, and international standards. Prepare non-compliance notes and support product-conformity and material-approval activities. Attend factory inspections, review compliance statements, document observations, and provide recommendations for dispatch clearance. Participate in technical, design, and progress meetings with contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Conduct site visits, quality audits, and investigations related to transformer and reactor issues. Support updates to technical specifications, standardization, and lessons-learned initiatives for future projects. Candidate Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience. Experience in high-voltage transmission, transformer/reactor design, engineering, testing, and quality control. Experience in 132k V and 400k V substations is preferred. Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, BS, and other applicable international standards. Strong problem-solving and technical report-writing skills. Experience with BIM and Revit is preferred.
