Senior Manager – Group Finance

Role Purpose

The Senior Manager of Group Finance is responsible for providing financial guidance and support to the business through financial analysis and control. He/she will work closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's overall business objectives and analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management. Special focus would be on ensuring the good health of the Balance sheet, efficient working capital, and financial automation/digitization.


Key Accountabilities

Strategic Planning

  1. Working closely with the business finance teams in understanding the financial health of the business.
  2. Develop financial models, budgets, and forecasts, which help the management team make informed decisions and develop strategic plans.
  3. Delivery of competitor analysis, competitive trends, and potential areas of improvement.
  4. Use data and make recommendations to influence strategic decision-making and planning. Independently align financial and operational analyses with business partners, challenging business partner assumptions when necessary.


Financial Planning and Analysis

  1. Developing and maintaining financial models such as FCFF, NWC, Debt Equity trend and forecast, and scenario planning to make recommendations that deliver results and drive improvements.
  2. Analyzing financial data to identify key trends and variances and providing insights and recommendations to the management team. This can include analyzing financial statements, creating financial reports, and identifying areas for improvement.
  3. Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with internal policies, including monitoring forecast accuracy, understanding drivers of variances, and providing insightful commentary & analysis for both current period and future periods.
  4. Comparing actual results to budgeted and forecasted results and identifying variances. Take appropriate action to manage variance.

Compliance

  1. Ensuring the development of new policies, update existing policies and ensuring uniformity of the same across all locations/businesses including informing implementation of all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
  2. Assisting with internal and external audits, providing documentation, and answering any questions related to finances.

Finance Digitization

  1. Champion and drive the finance digitization activity to be completed in time and the process to account for industry best practices.
  2. Good working knowledge of SAP SAC, Consolidation, and Power BI.
  3. Good working knowledge of finance automation tools.


Coaching & Mentoring

  1. Coach, mentor, and guide the Group Reporting team and help them realize their potential. Actively support the team members in defining their growth agenda and help them in the implementation of the same (As required).
  2. Conduct periodic performance reviews and provide developmental inputs as required.


Special Projects

Undertake special projects as per the guidance of the leadership team.


Education

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance.

Professional qualification such as CA or CPA or CFA.


Qualifications

5-10 years of relevant experience out of which 2-3 years in equivalent managerial role.


Functional Knowledge

Superior financial analysis and financial modelling skills.

Fluency in Microsoft Excel and/or SQL, VBA, Microsoft Access, SAP SAC, Oracle Financials, BI Cognos..
