Job responsibilities:

  • Develop package specifications for the procurement of rotating equipment packages
  • Develop driver selection philosophies/reports for rotating equipment
  • Identify discipline deliverables including battery limits and interfaces for applicable facilities and activities • Identify authority requirements and technical requirements relevant to the deliverables
  • Actively follow up milestones for the deliverables
  • Follow up the mechanical discipline related activities to ensure adequate quality and progress of the deliverables


Skills & Experience


  • Educated to first degree level in a relevant discipline; a chartered member of a relevant engineering institution or international equivalent.
  • Experience in the execution stage of a major, green-field offshore processing facility in the North Sea is essential.
  • HPHT experience highly desirable.
  • Expectation of contribution at Principal Engineer level
  • Possess skill in project execution processes associated with large, green-field upstream oil and gas developments.
  • Work collaboratively with the other development team members, and consultatively with relevant functional members of both Europe E&P in Aberdeen and the team in Reading.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and fluent English are prerequisites for the position.
  • Equipment dynamic analysis, design and execution experience essential with thorough knowledge of software for rotating equipment design in oil and gas field development applications specifically for UKCS North Sea environment.
  • Implementation of international mechanical engineering standards.
  • Collaborative working with certifying and verification bodies.
  • Knowledge of breadth and depth of mechanical engineering needed to manage the quality control of contractor technical work; ensuring appropriate techniques and standards are adopted.
  • Experience of onshore and offshore platform equipment commissioning and start-up.
  • Ability to find and communicate to contractors, in a proactive way, solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Commenting on documents and drawings in a constructive manner that identifies non compliances and errors.
  • Good understanding of interfacing disciplines.
  • Has good working knowledge of basic business principles (finance, commercial, etc).
