The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all
financial reporting activities within the Automotive vertical of the group. This job is
responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all financial
statements and reports. The Financial Reporting Manager works closely with the finance
team and other departments to ensure that financial performance is accurately reflected
and that all reporting meets the requirements of internal management, external auditors,
and regulatory bodies.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the preparation, review, and distribution of accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
Ensure that all financial reporting follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and
other relevant financial reporting standards and regulations.
Analyse financial results, identifying trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that
impact profitability and financial health.
Prepare detailed financial analysis and reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and providing recommendations for financial improvement.
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring that all financial data is accurately captured, reconciled, and reported within established timelines.
Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial
records.
Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary financial data and ensure that all journal
entries, accruals, and adjustments are accurately recorded.
Ensure that all financial reporting complies with policies, industry regulations, and external audit
requirements.
Prepare and file all necessary regulatory reports, including tax filings, sales reports, and other
compliance-related documents.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate and timely financial data,
analysis, and insights.
Assist in the development of financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with the dealership’s strategic goals and objectives.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing
recommendations for corrective actions.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the dealership’s financial assets and
ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Continuously evaluate and improve financial reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
Lead initiatives to streamline financial reporting workflows, reduce manual processes, and leverage
technology for improved financial reporting.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous
improvement, accountability, and excellence in financial reporting.
Work closely with other departments, including sales, service, parts, and operations, to ensure
accurate and timely financial reporting.
Collaborate with the IT department to ensure that financial systems and reporting tools are
effectively supporting the dealership’s financial reporting needs.
Provide financial expertise and support for special projects and initiatives, ensuring that all financial
aspects are accurately reported and analysed.
Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision
making.
Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
WORK EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in in related field.
Proven track record in financial reporting, accounting, or a related field, preferably within the
automotive or retail industry.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
