Role Description General Accountant / Accounting Officer
Responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely cash collection, proper bank account management, and monthly closing activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting Operations • Record all financial transactions accurately and on time • Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
2. Cash Collection & Receivables • Follow up on customer payments and cash collections • Record receipts and allocate collections correctly • Monitor outstanding balances and report overdue receivables
3. Bank & Cash Management • Manage bank accounts and daily bank transactions • Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations • Monitor cash flow and report shortages or discrepancies
4. Payables & Expenses • Record supplier invoices and employee expenses • Support payment processing and vendor reconciliations • Maintain proper approval and documentation
5. Month-End Closing • Support monthly closing activities • Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and closing entries • Ensure accounts are closed accurately and on time
6. Reporting & Records • Maintain organized financial files and records • Prepare basic financial reports as required • Support audit and management requests
7. Other Duties • Support VAT / tax record-keeping (if applicable) • Assist the finance manager with ad-hoc tasks • Ensure confidentiality of financial information
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • 2–5 years of accounting experience (day-to-day operations) • Good knowledge of accounting principles • Experience with accounting software and Excel • Strong attention to detail and time management • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
