Operations Engineer -Interface (SARB)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Ensure that Key Interfaces are identified with Existing Facilities both Upstream and Downstream of the
  • Project Boundaries and rechecks assumptions made by the Projects and put in place Assurance Plans for each project and ensure follow up and implementation of the required Replacement, Testing,
  • Inspection and Maintenance that is required for the existing facilities is carried out to ensure full alignment with the Project Deliverables & Business Objectives.
  • Act as an Asset Focal Point and ensures that Asset’s interests and expectations are fully addressed / represented / covered and assured in all aspects of the project and throughout project life cycle, in line with Value Assurance Process (VAP).
  • Identify with Operations, Maintenance and Integrity the Key Interfaces between the Project and the Existing Facilities.
  • Manage the effort in the preparation & development of the Operation, Maintenance and Integrity (OMI) Philosophy and its subsequent follow-up during project implementation.
  • Manage the efforts in delivery of Operations Readiness Plans (ORPs) and collaborates with various stakeholders for ensuring timely implementation.
  • Review of documents related to Operation, Maintenance and Integrity (OMI) and Operations Readiness Plans (ORPs).
  • Inject Asset’s inputs especially with regard to operability, maintainability of the facilities, layout and mechanical handling during design and construction & ensures that the new facilities are delivered as per Asset expectations.
  • Utilize lessons learnt from previous/ ongoing projects and site activities/experience to ensure that the project is appropriately executed to the required quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Play a leading role in providing key inputs to the Operations Assurance team in enabling reduction of outages during implementation of the tie-ins / interfaces with existing facilities and provide expert advice to project teams on alternative methods to minimize both the frequency and duration of outages.
  • Ensure that HSE issues affecting operations are adequately addressed in addition to the long-term integrity assurance of the Project.
  • Represent Asset during major safety studies workshops such as HAZOP, PHA, SIL, Safety Layout Review, PHSER, QRA, Pre Start-up Safety review, Safety Audits etc.
  • Represent Asset during the conduction of workshops of major reviews such as Design Review, Layout review, Plot plan review, 3D Model review, Constructability review, Tie-in etc.
  • Work closely with the Project Team at the onset of the project in order to identify and prepare an action plan for the training requirements of Operations personnel with the Project's scope, both before and after hand-over.
  • Liaise with Projects to provide the overall Project Interface Document including boundaries, design basis assumptions and impact of the Project on the existing facilities (Design, Operations, Integrity and Spare Capacity).
  • Participate and provide technical support during commissioning, start-up, performance test run.


Accountability 2: Interface/Support to Other Departments and OPCOs

  • Provide support / Interface to other OPCOs, Central Engineering Department, Technical Support Team and Projects for all relevant technical issues pertaining to Projects.
  • Review the packages/study Report prepared by Central Engineering Department as required.
  • Act as a member of various task forces.
  • Provide technical support to Planning as required.


Accountability 3: Coaching and Mentoring

  • Ensure development of UAE National graduates under Youth Development Program by conducting necessary mentoring, coaching, assessments and verifications.
  • Participate in Professional Ladder Assessment when requested.
  • Conduct necessary assessments, mentoring and coaching of subordinates to ensure that they come up the learning curve within the defined period of time. Participate in preparation of training programs for team members.
  • Guide, train, develop and motivate team members to work to their best potential, to work effectively together as a team.
