About the job TESTING AND COMMISSIONING HV CABLE ENGINEER
The HV Cable Engineer shall oversee installation, jointing, termination, testing, and commissioning of HV cables in accordance with TAQA, utility, and OEM requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise HV cable laying, pulling, jointing, and termination works
- Ensure proper execution of cable routes, bending radius, and pulling tension
- Witness and conduct cable testing including IR & Continuity, VLF / AC / DC tests (as applicable), Sheath Integrity Testing
- Coordinate with cable jointers and testing subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with TAQA safety and permit systems
- Prepare installation and test reports, red-line drawings, and handover documents
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- TAQA Competent Person Certification – Mandatory
- Minimum 6–8 years' experience in HV cable projects
- Experience with 33kV / 66kV / 132kV cables preferred
- UAE substation or utility experience is an advantage
