The Category Manager is responsible to effectively develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies for Categories and sub-categories in close collaboration with the stakeholders in line with the group and businesses strategies. This role is to enhance value and negotiates the contracts and agreements for the Goods and Services required at multiple locations within Geozones, Regions and or Global, to reduce TCO, cycle time and improve quality. The role will report to the Sr. Global Category Management and dual report line to Geozone/Region Supply Chain Manager, liaise with the network Geozone Supply Chain and Sourcing Managers to develop sourcing strategies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Close collaboration with the key stakeholders and establish a subject matter expert team to drive the change, define and implement global technical, commercial and contractual standards to support the implementation of the defined strategies
- Perform spend analysis to establish a detailed view of the current spend segmentation for assigned categories and sub-categories to drive strategy with an intimate knowledge of the supply market, key dynamics and latest drivers within a commodity
- Developing and implementing sourcing plans with established milestones and anticipated completion dates and ongoing supplier performance management
- Conducting risk analysis associated with the development and deployment of outlined multi-year strategies
- Establishing process methodologies for documenting and archiving business requirements that the regional/local teams can execute on
- Preparing and participating on bid events, qualifying, approving, negotiating contracts on the selection of new supply and service contracts terms that deliver value and mitigate risk to the company
- Develops relationship management strategies by which suppliers are evaluated, selected and managed in accordance with established guidelines and best practices
- Conduct monthly or quarterly business review with the Top tiers 1 suppliers
- Develops balanced supplier score cards and report on key supplier performance metrics, conduct bench marking studies and track contract utilisation, service delivery, and service level agreement
- Establishes, manages and maintains a strong and consistent supplier pipeline through strategic alliances, long term partnerships while ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to assess supplier quality and capability
- Ensures key stakeholders are fully engaged and buy-into the supplier’s engagement strategy
- Support business as a subject matter expert to adopt best practice into their environment
- Implement and provide guidance/standards and support to the Global, Regional and Geozones purchasing and sourcing organisations to ensure all category management strategies and sourcing plans are adopted, operationalised, and delivering expected value
- Communicates timely, clear and concise information and recommendations related categories
- Ensures safe and efficient utilisation of company systems, tools and spreadsheets/reports and agreements
- Works with all relevant parties in the consolidation and rationalisation of Supplier base
- Evaluates, manages and report Regional/Global performance indicators related to cost, quality and delivery of materials and services
- Establishes a culture of continuous improvement to define the function’s best-in-class status
Identifies fact based opportunities and implements actions to continually reduce Total cost of ownership, meet demand requirements and to generate savings and benefits to the business that requires alignment with Sr. Category Management and Business Product Line’s
Interfaces with Procurement personnel to ensure the entire contract and agreement is fully implemented and seamlessly at the Global/Regions level
Required:
- Minimum 7 to 10+ years of experience in general sourcing, strategic sourcing, outsourcing, supply chain management or similar experience
- Supply Chain Management
- Experience with e-sourcing tools and methodologies
- Experience in negotiating both domestic and international agreements
- Demonstrated track record for closed collaboration with stakeholders and delivering significant and measurable savings in a large, complex and fast-moving organisation
- Ability to interact in English and potentially other language relevant in local hub
- Intermediate Excel user and proficient in MS Office suite
Preferred:
- 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management or similar experience
- 10+ years involved in Supplier Relationship Management
- Experience in working across various functions, businesses and regions
- Supply Market expertise in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Certified Purchasing Professional CPP,CIPS, CSPC or CPM
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline
