Role Overview: A leading regional driver of AI and technology solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead the expansion of its Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Embedded Finance portfolio. This role is critical in enabling non-bank institutions and digital players to integrate regulated financial services directly into their customer journeys.
Key Responsibilities
Functional
BaaS Strategy & Execution: Lead the go-to-market strategy for BaaS solutions, targeting digital-first entities, e-commerce platforms, and large-scale commercial enterprises.
Ecosystem Expansion: Identify and secure partnerships with businesses looking to embed white-label financial products (accounts, cards, payments, and lending) into their existing platforms.
High-Value Technical Sales: Lead the end-to-end sales cycle for complex, API-driven financial infrastructure, ensuring seamless alignment between client tech stacks and internal capabilities.
Regulatory Liaison: Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all BaaS partnerships adhere strictly to regional financial regulations and licensing requirements.
Pricing & Commercial Models: Develop and negotiate intricate pricing structures, including transaction-based fees, API-usage models, and revenue-sharing agreements to maximize sustained growth.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain high-level relationships with "C-Suite" decision-makers, specifically focusing on Chief Digital Officers (CDOs) and Product Heads.
Market Intelligence: Proactively monitor the evolution of Open Banking and Fintech trends to identify first-mover opportunities for embedded financial solutions.
Requirements
National Preference: Must be a UAE National (UAEN).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Domain Experience: Minimum of 10 years in business development with a proven track record of selling BaaS or Banking-as-a-Service solutions.
Financial Services Background: Deep experience working within or selling to the financial services sector, including banks, fintechs, and regulated digital payment providers.
Network: An extensive and active professional network within the regional financial ecosystem, with the ability to navigate complex institutional procurement and "Know Your Partner" (KYP) processes.
API & Tech Proficiency: A strong understanding of API-led architecture and how modular banking components integrate into third-party software environments.
Ideally, You’ll Also Need
BaaS Subject Matter Expertise: Deep familiarity with the mechanics of embedded finance, including card issuance, digital wallets, and "Plug-and-Play" regulatory compliance.
Complex Negotiation: Proven ability to navigate long-cycle enterprise sales involving multiple stakeholders across IT, Legal, Risk, and Business units.
Strategic Thinking: The ability to visualize and articulate how financial services can add value to non-financial industries (e.g., Retail, Logistics, or Healthcare).
Communication Excellence: Exceptional skill in translating complex "Banking-as-Code" concepts into clear business benefits for diverse audiences.
Governance Knowledge: A robust understanding of regional data privacy laws and financial risk management frameworks.
