Job Summary

Our Financial Institutions (FI) Bankers are responsible for the strategic coverage of large banks, broker dealers and non-bank financial institution clients. They use their deep industry expertise to develop and execute the client account plans, across the entire client lifecycle. We’re looking for people with a client-first mindset to deliver appropriate products and services for our clients, and are confident working with diverse teams across markets, cultures and languages.
About our Banking and Coverage team 
Our Banking and Coverage team owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally. They work across our global network with product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash, and market solutions for our clients. The solutions include varied products and services, from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives, to mergers and acquisitions advisory.  
About Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) 
For more than 170 years we’ve support clients with their transaction banking, financial markets, corporate finance and borrowing needs and provide solutions to nearly 20,000 clients in the world’s fastest-growing economies and most active trade corridors.



Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:





  • Working closely with Relationship Managers and Product Managers to deliver comprehensive coverage and effective execution for mergers and acquisitions, private equity placements, and acquisition financing transactions.

  • Developing and implementing client engagement strategies that cater specifically to banks, broker dealers, and non-bank financial institutions, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

  • Conducting thorough competitor pricing reviews and benchmarking to maintain competitive positioning and maximize client value.

  • Origination of new client opportunities through insightful market analysis and the provision of tailored, structured financial solutions.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Structuring, and Implementation teams to develop innovative products that respond to client demands.

  • Managing rigorous account planning processes, including preparing call reports, tracking deal pipelines, and ensuring detailed documentation of client interactions.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, sustainable finance innovations, emerging technologies, and evolving economic factors that impact client portfolios and growth opportunities.

  • Engaging with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams proactively to ensure that portfolios remain credit-worthy and fully compliant with applicable regulations and internal policies



Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following expertise and experience:





  • A trusted advisor with a proven track record in providing exceptional account management and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with high-profile financial institution clients.

  • Delivering superior client experiences by understanding client behaviours and preferences, and translating these insights into effective client strategies.

  • Expertise in analysing complex financial reports and statements to thoroughly evaluate client performance and investment suitability, supporting informed decision-making.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Financial Markets and Transaction Banking, with the ability to formulate strategic perspectives on key client industries, including understanding regulatory frameworks and emerging trends.

  • Strong risk management skills to ensure a balanced portfolio that aligns with both client needs and the bank’s risk appetite.

  • Solid experience navigating financial services regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance in a highly regulated environment.
