Job Description
• Inspect site conditions prior to the start of construction activities to verify the compatibility of the site with the approved design and permanent works.
• Check for obstructions and document existing site conditions through photographs to prevent potential damage to existing utilities, structures, and landscaping.
• Review and verify materials delivered to the site for conformance with approved samples, specifications, and equipment lists; report any non-conformances to the Resident Engineer (RE).
• Ensure that all materials are properly stored and protected at the site to maintain quality and prevent damage or contamination.
• Inspect construction of both temporary and permanent works to confirm compliance with contract documents, approved shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily inspection logs, test reports, and site records in accordance with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.
• Monitor site safety practices and ensure that all works are carried out following approved safety procedures; report unsafe practices or incidents to the RE immediately.
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Reports (SORs) for any deviation from approved materials, specifications, or procedures, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist in the inspection of completed works, prepare punch lists, and monitor testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure quality compliance.
• Review and provide recommendations on Contractors’ Requests for Information (RFIs) related to civil materials and testing requirements.
• Evaluate requests for material variances or substitutions and provide technical comments and recommendations to the RE for approval.
• Read and interpret working drawings and related specifications, enforce compliance on-site, and prepare inspection and material testing reports.
• Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories and ensure all material tests are performed as per project specifications and standards.
• Ensure that all material approvals, test results, NCRs, and inspection records are properly documented and maintained for monthly reporting and project close-out.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities (e.g., Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA) for material approvals, testing, and compliance verification.
