Role Purpose The Senior Post-Contract Senior Designer reports into the Post Contract Manager and acts as MWM Studio’s senior in-house representative during the construction phase of live projects. The role is responsible for overseeing post-contract delivery across multiple sites, ensuring that the design intent, quality, and detailing are executed to Studio MWM standards. This position is client-facing and supervisory, acting as a key point of contact between the Client, Lead Consultant / Project Manager, Contractors, and the internal Design Team. Provides leadership, guidance, and quality oversight, while mentoring junior post-contract team members and contributing to overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
Post-Contract Leadership & Quality Control · Take overall responsibility for post-contract design quality across assigned projects.· Establish, implement, and monitor quality control procedures to ensure adherence to Studio MWM standards.· Act as the senior design authority on site, safeguarding the original design intent throughout construction.· Proactively identify risks, design issues, or deviations and lead resolution strategies.
Client & Consultant Interface · Serve as a primary point of contact for Clients during the post-contract phase, addressing design-related queries professionally and confidently.· Attend and contribute to client meetings, site meetings, and progress reviews.· Support the Lead Consultant / Project Manager in managing client expectations, approvals, and design clarifications.· Present design solutions, alternatives, and recommendations clearly to clients when required.
Design Coordination & Technical Review · Lead the review and approval process for ID contractor shop drawings, ensuring full compliance with the design intent.· Oversee the review of material submittals, finishes, colours, and samples, coordinating with the in-house Design Team as required.· Guide the sourcing and approval of alternative materials or details where necessary, ensuring quality and aesthetic alignment.· Provide technical and design direction to contractors via the Lead Consultant / Project Manager.
Site Oversight & Issue Resolution · Carry out regular site inspections to assess workmanship, quality, and compliance with approved designs.· Lead the resolution of on-site design issues, providing clear direction and timely solutions.· Ensure works are progressing in line with programme and design expectations, escalating concerns where necessary.



Team Leadership & Mentorship · Supervise and mentor Post-Contract Designers and junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support.· Coordinate workloads across projects to ensure efficient use of post-contract resources.· Review and oversee post-contract deliverables prepared by junior team members.
Project Close-Out & Reporting
· Lead final inspections and oversee the preparation and completion of snagging lists.· Ensure design-related items are closed out to the required standard prior to project handover.· Oversee and review monthly Post-Contract Hourly Reports per project for management and client invoicing.· Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned to improve future delivery.
