Your day to day


To lead and drive Leisure and MICE revenue performance in alignment with IHG’s commercial strategy, brand standards, and “True Hospitality” values. The Director of Sales – Leisure & MICE is responsible for developing strategic sales plans, managing key accounts, and maximizing total revenue contribution while enhancing brand reputation and guest experience.


A little taste of your day-to-day


Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:


  • Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue from Leisure and MICE segments.
  • Achieve budgeted sales targets, room nights, banquet revenue, and overall profitability.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships locally and internationally.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate, travel agents, tour operators, DMCs, and event organizers.
  • Lead negotiations, contract agreements, and pricing strategies for Leisure and MICE accounts.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term business retention.
  • Oversee MICE sales activities including site inspections, proposals, and event contracting.
  • Coordinate closely with Banquet, Events, Revenue Management, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Ensure all MICE events are delivered in line with brand standards and client expectations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Leisure & MICE sales team.
  • Set the Goal for team, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and customer focused sales culture.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, sales missions, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on promotional campaigns, digital strategies, and brand positioning.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior management.
  • Flexible to work during peak business periods, events, and weekends when necessary

What we need from you


Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field. Two to four years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
