Job Details

Telesales Executive is a sales professional who sells products or services entirely via telephone and digital communication channels. Unlike telemarketers, who primarily focus on generating interest or leads, telesales executives are responsible for closing the sale and driving revenue.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead Conversion: Contacting potential and existing customers from provided lists to persuade them to buy products or services.
  • Order Processing: Accurately recording customer details and processing purchase orders within the company's systems.
  • Relationship Management: Building rapport with customers to encourage repeat business and manage existing accounts.
  • Objection Handling: Using scripted and unscripted techniques to address customer doubts, handle rejections, and resolve grievances.
  • Lead Generation: Qualifying prospects and, in some cases, setting up appointments for field sales teams.
  • CRM Maintenance: Updating and maintaining accurate records of all customer interactions in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software like Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Target Achievement: Consistently meeting or exceeding daily and monthly sales quotas and call volume KPIs.

Key Requirements & Skills

  • Experience: Often an entry-level role, but many employers prefer 1–2 years in sales or customer service.
  • Education: A high school diploma is standard; a bachelor's degree in business or marketing is often preferred for senior roles.
  • Persuasion & Negotiation: The ability to influence others and negotiate terms effectively over the phone.
  • Resilience: A "thick skin" to handle frequent rejection while maintaining a positive and energetic demeanor.
  • Tech Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and telephone systems.
  • Active Listening: Identifying customer needs by listening to verbal cues and adjusting the sales pitch accordingly.
  • Setting: Typically office-based in call centers, though remote work is increasingly common.
  • Hours: Standard 40-hour work week, but may include evening or weekend shifts to reach customers at optimal times.
  • Salary: Compensation often consists of a base salary plus performance-based commission or bonuses
