SC Ventures is Standard Chartered’s innovation, fintech investment and ventures arm. We were established to reinvent banking, as the significant technological disruptions to the industry was impacting its ability to serve clients and customers, in the ways they needed to be served.

We are building ecosystems around four high conviction themes: Online Economy & Lifestyle, SMEs & World Trade, Digital Assets, and Sustainability & Inclusion.
We are a global team of "Members" (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group's support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, and the United Arab Emirates.
Key Responsibilities Strategy
• Define and continuously refine the fund’s overall investment strategy, asset allocation, and risk framework across digital asset markets
• Oversee portfolio construction across:
o Liquid tokens (spot and derivatives)
o Market-neutral and yield strategies
o Structured products and options
o Select private/venture digital asset investments (where applicable)
• Ensure disciplined position sizing, liquidity management, and drawdown control
• Opine on all major investment decisions in line with Board-approved mandates
• Maintain deep, real-time understanding of:
o Digital asset market structure and liquidity dynamics
o Macro and cross-asset correlations
o Protocol, ecosystem, and infrastructure developments
• Oversee internal and external research efforts to support conviction-based investing
• Evaluate new strategies, products, and market opportunities before deployment
Business
• Act as the primary investment spokesperson to the Board and key stakeholders
• Prepare and present:
o Portfolio performance and attribution reports
o Risk and stress-testing analysis
o Forward-looking strategy updates
• Support investor due diligence and fundraising discussions as required
Risk Management
• Ensure direct reports adhere to Policies and Procedures related to Technology & Innovation
• Act and escalate quickly when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees
• Work with SCV colleagues to deliver expected business performance results within cost constraints and applicable risk/ control framework to ensure that the Group’s ability to remain within risk appetite is not materially threatened.
Governance
• Responsible for effective governance of SCV activities in the region, ensuring appropriate governance structures and measures are in place.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
• Lead the SC Ventures digital assets portfolio team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
• Support with MAS for licenses for relevant businesses

Qualifications • 10-15 years of investment, fundraising, M&A or related experience (VC/PE, investment banking, private equity, consulting, due diligence)
• Understanding and familiarity of B2B blockchain applications, blockchain financial markets infrastructure, blockchain protocols, regulation and risk management relating to digital assets, tokens and smart contract models and economics, tokenisation, Web 3.0 and Defi
• Roll up sleeves attitude as this will be a lean team operating the Digital Assets Fund
• Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated
• Ability to help develop more junior members of the team
• Strong knowledge of Excel including advanced function
• Experience with cash flow modelling and investment valuation techniques
• Ability to produce well designed professional looking Power-point presentations
• Strong written, analytical and verbal communication skills
