For our office in Dubai, we are looking for
Systems Lead - 100% (m/f) The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and coordinating end-to-end systems delivery across design, integration, testing & commissioning, and handover. The role requires strong interface management, technical leadership across multidisciplinary subsystems, and proactive coordination with clients, authorities, operators, and suppliers to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project outcomes. This position also supports programme planning, progress reporting, and delivery governance across the systems scope.
Responsibilities
1) Systems Delivery & Technical Leadership Lead systems scope delivery across the project lifecycle (design support, integration planning, testing readiness, commissioning support, and handover). Ensure systems deliverables are complete, consistent, and aligned with contract, authority, and operator requirements. Drive effective problem-solving and technical coordination to remove blockers and maintain milestone commitments.
2) Interface & Integration Management Own and manage the Interface Register and interface closure process across internal disciplines, contractors, OEMs, and third parties. Coordinate partner integration schedules and sequencing, ensuring interface alignment across system activities. Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and maintain clear actions, decisions, and escalation paths.
3) Testing, Commissioning & Handover (T&C) Lead / coordinate preparation of system T&C plans, procedures, readiness reviews, and test execution strategy. Coordinate FAT/SAT support, on-site integration testing, performance testing, trial running and acceptance activities (as applicable). Drive defect management with suppliers and subsystem owners, ensuring structured investigation, tracking, and closure.
4) Operational Readiness Support Support the Operator/Authority in operational readiness planning and delivery, including availability targets, service introduction activities, and handover readiness. Ensure systems integration and test outcomes align with operational performance requirements and service KPIs.
5) Programme Controls, Reporting & Governance Support systems planning, progress monitoring, and recovery actions where delays/constraints occur (cost, programme, scope). Contribute to risk/opportunity management for systems scope, ensuring timely reporting and mitigation actions. Provide accurate weekly/monthly updates to project leadership and client stakeholders.
6) Stakeholder & Client Management Act as a key client-facing systems focal point; communicate complex technical issues clearly and drive decisions. Build strong working relationships with authorities/operators and ensure alignment on approvals, acceptance, and handover expectations.
7) Continuous Improvement & Performance Mindset Promote structured delivery governance, standardized reporting, and performance-driven execution (KPIs, readiness dashboards, efficiency improvements). Contribute to lessons learned and improvement initiatives across projects and internal delivery practices.
Competencies / Skills Strong leadership and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams and suppliers (including technicians/field teams as required). Excellent stakeholder management with authorities/operators and client-facing confidence. Structured planning mindset (schedule, readiness, interfaces, risks, defects). Strong communication skills; able to translate technical issues into decisions and actions. High ownership, accountability, and focus on safe delivery outcomes.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems / Electrical / Mechanical / Rail / Transport or similar).10 -15 years' experience in rail/metro project delivery with strong systems exposure. Demonstrated experience leading system integration, interface coordination, and T&C delivery through to handover. Master’s in Systems Engineering or equivalent is an advantage. Experience coordinating across multiple subsystems such as: Signaling, Communications, ISCS/SCADA, Power Supply, Rolling Stock, Depot systems, AFC, Platform Systems, MEP, etc.
