A Certified Senior Quantity Surveyor and Estimation Engineer (10–12+ years’ experience) responsible for the financial and commercial anchor of large-scale construction projects. Combining pre-contract estimation expertise with post-contract cost control, this role ensures projects are profitable, within budget, and compliant with contractual obligations. At this seniority level, the role involves managing complex claims and acting as the main point of contact with clients/consultants.
Key Responsibilities :
Pre-Contract Estimation & Tendering: Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documents (estimation of direct/indirect costs). Cost Control & Management: Establish cost control systems, maintain project budgets, perform value engineering, and provide cash flow projections. Contract Administration (FIDIC): Manage contractual and commercial correspondence, administer FIDIC/standard forms of contract, and manage bonds/insurances. Variations & Claims Management: Identify, value, and negotiate variation orders, claims (EOT), and final accounts. Subcontractor & Supplier Management: Manage the procurement process, including tender evaluation, rate analysis, negotiation, and interim payment certifications. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior quantity surveyors and estimation technicians. Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, cost-to-complete (CTC) forecasts, and risk/opportunity logs for management. Required Experience & Qualifications
Experience: 10–12+ years of experience in quantity surveying and cost estimation, with strong experience in the main contracting or construction industries. Specialization: Proven experience in complex projects Certification: A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or quantity surveying is required. MRICS (Chartered Status) or equivalent is highly preferred. Regional Knowledge: Strong understanding of local regulations, building codes, and UAE market rates.
