About the job MECHANICAL ENGINEER
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design, engineering, and execution of large-scale oil & gas and infrastructure projects. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure mechanical systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute detailed mechanical engineering activities for EPC projects across FEED, Detailed Design, and Construction phases
- Prepare and review mechanical design deliverables including datasheets, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
- Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and material selection
- Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, electrical, instrumentation, process) to ensure integrated design delivery
- Review and approve vendor drawings and documents for compliance with project specifications
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases
- Ensure all mechanical designs comply with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO)
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and technical meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues at site
- Key Systems & Equipment Exposure- Rotating Equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines), Static Equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks), Piping systems and materials, HVAC and utility systems, Firefighting systems
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in EPC/Oil & Gas projects
- Experience working on onshore/offshore projects is preferred
- Familiarity with FEED and Detailed Design phases
- Proficiency in engineering software/tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, PV Elite, HTRI or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of international engineering standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO)
- Experience with material requisitions, technical evaluations, and vendor coordination
- Knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements in oil & gas projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural project environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Previous experience working with major EPC contractors (Preferred)
- GCC project experience (Preferred)
- Membership with a recognized engineering body is an advantage (Preferred)
