This is a senior technical role suited for an experienced solar PV professional who can lead project development, system design, feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and EPC contractor selection while ensuring bankable, optimized, and compliant project solutions.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead the technical development of solar PV projects from concept stage through design and evaluation.
-Prepare technical concepts, feasibility assessments, and project-specific solar PV solutions.
-Design rooftop and ground-mounted PV systems, including layout optimization, system sizing, DC/AC configuration, and performance modelling.
-Conduct electrical engineering calculations including PV array design, cable sizing, voltage drop, power losses, protection coordination, grounding, and lightning protection.
-Prepare and review technical specifications, BOQs, RFQs, SLDs, layouts, and system schematics.
-Conduct solar resource assessments, yield analysis, simulation studies, and techno-economic evaluations.
-Support EPC contractor evaluation, technical bid reviews, deviation analysis, and cost-impact assessments.
-Review and validate technical deliverables to ensure design quality, consistency, and compliance with international standards.
-Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
-Provide technical input on vendor prequalification, market expansion, and emerging renewable energy technologies.
-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
-Minimum 8 years of experience in solar PV engineering, including project development and EPC execution.
-Proven experience in solar PV system design and technical leadership.
-Hands-on involvement in at least two medium-to-large-scale solar PV projects above 5 MW.
-Experience with rooftop, ground-mounted, grid-connected, and/or behind-the-meter solar PV systems.
-Strong background in feasibility studies, system design, yield estimation, and techno-economic analysis.
-Experience with hybrid microgrid systems, including integration of solar PV with BESS and conventional generators.
-Working knowledge of energy storage systems and hybrid system integration.
-Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and ISO.
-Experience with engineering quality control processes, preferably within the UAE, GCC, or MENA region.
-Proficiency in solar PV engineering and simulation tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, HelioScope, PVcase, ETAP, DIgSILENT, HOMER, MATLAB, or similar tools.
-Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
