About the Role:
We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our team in Sikkim. In this role, you will support data-driven decision making by collecting and analyzing data, building and evaluating machine learning models, creating visualizations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Python programming, machine learning, statistics, and SQL, and is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources
Perform exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis
Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models under guidance
Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights
Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
Assist in deploying and monitoring models in production
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Document methodologies and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
1–3 years of experience in a data science or analytics role
Proficiency in Python and libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn
Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and algorithms
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
Knowledge of statistics and probability theory
Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data services
Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop or Spark
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Experience deploying models using Docker or similar technologies
Exposure to version control systems (Git)
Domain knowledge in areas such as finance, healthcare, or retail
