Roles & Responsibilities

As a Metal QS Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial and contractual management of our projects from inception to final account:

  • Quantity Take-offs: Perform accurate measurements and quantity take-offs from structural and architectural drawings.

  • BOQ & Tender Prep: Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical tender documents.

  • Variation Management: Identify, price, and negotiate variation orders to ensure project profitability.

  • Subcontractor Evaluation: Review subcontractor quotes, verify their work progress, and manage payment certifications.

  • Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, prepare cost reports, and implement cost-saving measures.

  • Billing & Certification: Manage monthly progress billings, payment applications, and follow up on payment certifications with clients/consultants.

  • Contractual Documentation: Maintain rigorous project documentation and ensure compliance with UAE contract laws and billing procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

We are seeking a results-driven professional who combines technical engineering knowledge with strong commercial acumen. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification specialized in Quantity Surveying.

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 4 years of solid experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically within the metal, steel, or aluminum contracting industry.

  • Technical Expertise: You possess a deep understanding of metal and aluminum works. You must be highly proficient in reading and interpreting complex structural drawings and architectural layouts.

  • QS Competencies: You have a proven track record in performing accurate quantity take-offs, preparing comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ), managing variation orders, and conducting subcontractor evaluations.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: You are well-versed in UAE contract standards, local billing procedures, and the specific project documentation required within the Emirates.

  • Software Skills: Mastery of MS Excel for cost control and data analysis is essential, along with a strong working command of AutoCAD for technical verification.

  • Analytical Mindset: You are detail-oriented with the ability to manage project budgets effectively and ensure cost-control measures are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
