Job description
SKC nephrologists are usually based at one site but may need to travel to other hospital or clinic sites. Home visits are occasionally required. Successful applicants will have a job plan including on-call and evening work.
Consultants should have experience working independently as a Nephrologist and have a demonstrable sub-speciality interest.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification will be required (training will be given if needed).
Consultants are expected to contribute to research, teaching and education within the department

• Outpatient nephrology care
• Haemodialysis patient care
• Peritoneal dialysis care
• Transplant workup
• In-patient nephrology care general nephrology
• In-patient nephrology care to ICU/CRRT
• Teaching of junior staff and colleagues
• Presentations for internal/external meetings
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
a. Qualification from Tier 1
OR
b. Qualification from Tier 2
c. Current national license or equivalent
d. Certified proof of yearly CME

• Excellent English language
• Excellent computer skills
• Basic ultrasound skills
• ECG interpretation
• BLS
• ACLS – or be wiling to obtain
• Research experience
• Good publication record
• Nephrology training enabling consultant licencing

• Post-graduate degrees or diplomas
• Experience of other extracorporeal therapies which may include plasma exchange,MARS etc
• Quality improvement project experience
• Intervention skills – line insertion/PD catheter insertion/AVF intervention
