Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Technical Engineer – Electrical to join our MEP contracting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical coordination, design review, and ensuring full compliance with UAE local authority requirements and project specifications for high-rise buildings and luxury villa developments across Dubai.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review electrical designs, shop drawings, and material submissions for compliance with specifications and authority requirements.

  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and project teams on all electrical technical matters throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure full compliance with DEWA, SIRA, DCD, and Dubai Municipality regulations and standards.

  • Prepare technical reports, load schedules, cable sizing calculations, and design calculation packages.

  • Supervise electrical installation works on site and provide hands-on technical support to site teams.

  • Handle authority submissions and manage approval and NOC processes with all relevant UAE regulatory bodies.

  • Review, validate, and issue as-built drawings and close-out documentation.

  • Evaluate and process RFIs, material submittals, method statements, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Coordinate Low-Current (ELV) systems with relevant authorities, specialist subcontractors, and telecom providers.

  • Support testing, commissioning, and system performance verification for all electrical systems.

  • Contribute to value engineering exercises to optimize cost without compromising design quality.

  • Coordinate with MEP disciplines and structural/architectural teams to ensure clash-free installations.


Systems Expertise Required

Electrical (LV / MV) Systems

– LV power distribution, switchgear, and panel boards

– MV switchgear and transformer coordination

– Lighting systems (interior, exterior, façade, and emergency)

– Earthing and lightning protection systems

– UPS and standby generator systems

– Load calculations, cable sizing, and protection coordination

Low-Current / ELV Systems

– CCTV surveillance systems

– Access Control systems

– Structured Cabling (data and voice networks)

– Telephone / Data systems

– SMATV / satellite and TV distribution systems

– Intercom and video door entry systems

– Fire Alarm and detection systems

– Voice Evacuation (PA/VA) systems

– Emergency Lighting systems

– Building Management System (BMS) integration


Authority & Regulatory Knowledge (Mandatory)

Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with the following UAE authorities:

  • Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) – Electrical system design, submission, inspection, and approvals

  • Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) – CCTV, Access Control, and security system approvals

  • Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) – Fire Alarm compliance and Fire Fighting system coordination

  • Dubai Municipality (DM) and Dubai Building Code compliance

  • Etisalat / du – Telecom infrastructure coordination and approvals

  • Dubai Green Building Regulations and Sustainability requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Minimum 8–10 years of UAE experience in MEP contracting (mandatory – non-negotiable).

  • Proven experience in luxury villa and high-rise building projects.

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical system design, LV/MV distribution, and ELV systems.

  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD for drawing production and review.

  • Solid understanding of MEP coordination, load calculations, and cable sizing.

  • Experience with Low-Current systems: CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, SMATV, Intercom, Fire Alarm, Voice Evacuation, and Emergency Lighting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report preparation and documentation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with premium developers, clients, and consultants.

  • UAE engineering authority registration (DEWA approved, DM or equivalent) is highly preferred.


Preferred Skills & Added Value

  • Experience in value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality or specification.

  • Exposure to premium finishes and high-specification materials for luxury residential projects.

  • Strong understanding of BIM Level 3 coordination and Revit MEP (electrical discipline).

  • Experience with Navisworks for clash detection and multi-discipline coordination.

  • Knowledge of energy efficiency requirements and Dubai Green Building Regulations.

  • Familiarity with Aconex, Procore, or BIM 360 document management platforms.
