Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly competent Senior Technical Engineer – Mechanical with strong experience in premium residential and high-rise developments to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical design review, authority compliance, and end-to-end coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in full compliance with UAE regulations, international codes, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting shop drawings, design drawings, and material submissions.

• Perform detailed design calculations including cooling load, ventilation, pump head, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and static pressure analysis.

• Ensure full compliance with local UAE authority regulations and applicable international engineering standards.

• Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural teams, and all MEP disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.

• Provide technical support to site teams during installation and execution phases.

• Review and validate method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and technical submittals.

• Prepare technical reports, equipment schedules, and system selection justification documents.

• Handle authority submissions and manage approval processes with all relevant UAE regulatory bodies.

• Lead clash coordination using BIM tools (Revit MEP / Navisworks) to ensure clash-free installations.

• Review and finalize as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation.

• Support testing, commissioning, and system performance validation activities.

• Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize costs without compromising quality or specification.

Authority & Regulatory Knowledge (Mandatory)

Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with the following UAE authorities:

• Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) – Water systems coordination and approvals

• Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) – Fire Fighting compliance and Fire Alarm system coordination

• Dubai Municipality (DM) – HVAC, ventilation, and drainage regulations

• Dubai Development Authority (DDA)

• Trakhees – Engineering and project approvals

• Etisalat / du – Coordination for telecom room cooling requirements

• District Cooling Authorities: Empower and Tabreed (chilled water interface, pumps, and district cooling coordination)

Codes & Standards Knowledge

• ASHRAE – HVAC design and ventilation standards

• NFPA – Fire protection system design and installation

• SMACNA – Duct design and installation standards

• DW144 / BESA – Ductwork fabrication and installation standards

• IPC / UPC – International Plumbing Code and Uniform Plumbing Code

• Dubai Green Building Regulations and Sustainability requirements

• Estidama Pearl Rating System

• UAE Fire Code

Systems Expertise Required

HVAC Systems

– Chilled Water Systems – Air-cooled and water-cooled configurations

– VRF / VRV Systems

– Ventilation and Exhaust Systems

– Staircase Pressurization and Smoke Management Systems

– District Cooling integration (Empower / Tabreed)

Plumbing Systems

– Cold and hot water supply and distribution

– Sanitary drainage systems

– Stormwater and irrigation systems

Fire Protection Systems

– Fire Fighting systems: sprinklers, hydrants, foam systems, and hose reels

– Pump rooms, fire water storage tanks, and boosting systems

– Coordination with Fire Alarm and detection systems

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

• Minimum 10 years of UAE experience in MEP contracting (mandatory – non-negotiable).

• Proven experience on high-rise developments and luxury/premium villa projects.

• Strong expertise in mechanical design review, system engineering, and technical coordination.

• Hands-on experience with Revit MEP and Navisworks for BIM coordination.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawing review and mark-up.

• Experience with HVAC load calculation software: HAP, Elite CHVAC, or equivalent.

• In-depth knowledge of cooling load calculations, equipment selection, and system optimization.

• Demonstrated experience managing authority submissions and NOC approvals in Dubai.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with premium developers, clients, and consultants.

• UAE engineering authority registration (Dubai Municipality or equivalent) is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills & Added Value

• Experience with District Cooling system integration (Empower / Tabreed interface).

• Knowledge of energy modelling and sustainability compliance (Estidama, Green Building).

• Experience in value engineering and cost optimization without compromising design quality.

• Exposure to premium and high-spec materials and finishes for luxury residential projects.

• Strong understanding of BIM Level 3 coordination and ISO 19650 workflows.

• LEED AP, ASHRAE BEAP, or Estidama PQP accreditation is an advantage.
