Roles & Responsibilities

Category Management

  • Handle end-to-end management of the household category (cleaning items, kitchenware, plastic goods, home essentials, etc.)

  • Develop category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets

  • Plan product assortment based on market trends and customer demand

    Buying & Procurement

  • Source and negotiate with local and international suppliers

  • Ensure best purchase prices, payment terms, and margins

  • Identify new products and innovative items to enhance category range

    Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers

  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly

  • Ensure timely deliveries and stock availability

    Pricing & Promotions

  • Set competitive retail pricing in line with market trends

  • Plan and execute promotions, offers, and seasonal campaigns

  • Coordinate with marketing team for flyers and in-store promotions

    Inventory Control

  • Monitor stock levels, aging, and slow-moving items

  • Ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing overstock

  • Work closely with warehouse and store teams

    Sales & Performance Analysis

  • Analyze sales reports, margins, and category performance

  • Use data to make informed buying decisions

  • Achieve KPIs such as sales growth, margin %, and stock turnover

    Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Regularly visit competitors and track pricing and product trends

  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the market

    Coordination

  • Work closely with store operations, logistics, finance, and marketing teams

  • Ensure smooth product flow from supplier to shelf

    Other

  • Negotiate and secure optimal pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with vendors for household products, maximizing profitability and minimizing risks.

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with overall business objectives, focusing on product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities.

  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify new product opportunities and inform buying decisions.

  • Manage vendor relationships, conduct performance reviews, and address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or service.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field provides a strong foundation.

  • Experience within the retail or consumer goods industry is highly beneficial for understanding the market dynamics.

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably in household categories.
