Roles & Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts. Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payment requests, and vendor bills in a timely manner. Track outstanding payments and ensure proper follow-up for receivables.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and internal records.
- Inventory and Cost Accounting: Assist with inventory management by recording inventory transactions, tracking stock movements, and updating inventory reports. Help in calculating and analyzing product cost structures.
- Support Month-End Close: Assist in the preparation and posting of month-end journal entries. Help ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly financial reports.
- Financial Reporting Support: Prepare basic financial reports and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review.
- Tax Compliance Support: Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT and other regulatory tax reports.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and track departmental expenses, ensuring they align with budgeted amounts. Assist with reconciliation of expense reports and approvals.
- Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain organized financial records and files. Ensure all documentation related to financial transactions is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible for audits and compliance checks.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Provide accounting support for various projects and ad-hoc requests from senior accountants, finance managers, or other departments as needed.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems) and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling financial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax compliance (e.g., VAT and sales tax) is a plus.
