Senior Designer – Pre-Construction

Department: Pre-Construction

Reports To: Technical / Design Manager – Pre-Construction

Location: Dubai

Grade: 9

Job Description:

The Senior Designer – Façade is responsible for developing detailed façade system designs that integrate architectural intent with structural and thermal performance requirements. This role ensures all design outputs are technically accurate, compliant with project specifications, and coordinated with internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Designer prepares detailed drawings, engineering summaries, and supports project delivery through technical problem‑solving and design optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed façade design drawings, system details, and project-specific technical documentation.

• Incorporate structural requirements, including load paths, allowable deflections, connection detailing, and code compliance.

• Analyse and coordinate thermal performance criteria such as U‑values, SHGC, thermal bridging, and condensation control.

• Coordinate design solutions with structural engineers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure feasibility and buildability.

• Prepare design reports, structural and thermal summaries, and respond to consultant review comments.

• Ensure design compliance with project specifications, façade standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Support tender, construction, and installation phases by providing design clarifications and revised drawings.

• Communicate design changes proactively and maintain accurate, coordinated documentation.

• Take part in the design assist meetings post-award to ensure a smooth handover

1. Documentation & Technical Support

• KPI: Clear, accurate, and error‑free drawings and reports.

• KPI: Resolution of ≥85% technical issues within 72 hours.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Façade Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field.

• 6–8 years of façade design experience, including exposure to structural and thermal coordination, preferably in pre-award/pre-construction.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and façade modelling tools (Rhino, SketchUp, BIM).

• Familiarity with structural/thermal analysis tools such as SAP2000, STAADPro, C-Beam, Therm, or Flixo.

• Strong technical detailing skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
