Roles & Responsibilities

The Manager – Fleet Operations will support the Fleet Manager in overseeing and optimizing fleet activities across the UAE and GCC. This includes managing middle mile and last mile logistics, ensuring compliance with UAE road regulations, coordinating cross-border operations, and driving operational efficiency across the fleet
 

Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

• Oversee daily fleet operations including vehicle dispatch, routing, and scheduling.

• Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and driver performance using telematics and fleet management systems.

• Ensure timely delivery and pickup across middle mile and last mile operations.

Cross-Border GCC Logistics

• Coordinate and manage cross-border fleet movements across GCC countries.

• Ensure compliance with customs, border control, and transport regulations in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait.

• Liaise with freight forwarders and customs clearance agents for smooth transit.

Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with UAE RTA regulations including licensing, insurance, and emissions standards.

• Stay updated on UAE transport laws including restricted timings, and digital compliance mandates. 

• Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.

Maintenance & Safety

• Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.

• Implement and monitor vehicle safety protocols. 

• Conduct driver safety training and enforce defensive driving standards.

Driver & Vendor Management

• Manage driver rosters, shift planning, and performance evaluations.

• Resolve driver-related issues including breakdowns, route deviations, and compliance violations.

• Coordinate with third-party transport vendors and leasing partners.

Cost & Efficiency Optimization

• Track and analyse fuel usage, maintenance costs, and operational KPIs.

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through route optimization, vehicle swapping, and off-hiring.

• Support budgeting and forecasting for fleet operations.

Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare weekly/monthly reports on fleet performance, cost metrics, and delivery SLAs.

• Use data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement areas.

• Present insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.

• 6–10 years of experience in fleet operations, preferably in logistics, e-commerce, or transportation sectors.

• Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC transport regulations.

• Proficiency in fleet management software (e.g., Fleet Complete, Teletrac, TMS).

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Valid UAE driving license; GCC experience preferred.
