Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough cost estimation for construction projects, ensuring accuracy by analyzing project plans and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, tracking expenses and forecasting future costs to minimize overruns.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for materials and labor, enabling effective procurement and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess design changes and their financial impacts on the project.
  • Review subcontractor bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and identifying the best value.
  • Generate and present financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting budget variances and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet financial objectives.
  • Assist in contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, focusing on favorable terms and conditions.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify that work is being completed according to specifications and budget.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to provide innovative solutions for cost management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation within the construction industry is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is a strong advantage, showcasing commitment to the field.
  • Experience with construction project management software and cost estimation tools is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles and financial management specific to construction projects is necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights for cost optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Physical ability to navigate construction sites and conduct field assessments as required.
