Job description

We are looking for a Russian-speaking Accountant / Senior Accountant to support a UAE-based company with accounting setup, bookkeeping supervision, reporting, and coordination with auditors.

This role is suitable for someone who has practical experience with UAE accounting requirements, VAT / Corporate Tax matters, accounting software, and month-end closing processes.

Main responsibilities

• Set up or review the accounting system and accounting process.
• Create or adjust the chart of accounts.
• Help organize invoice, expense, payment, and bank reconciliation workflows.
• Provide instructions on how invoices, bills, payments, and expenses should be entered.
• Review bookkeeping entries on a regular basis.
• Check that accounting data is accurate and complete.
• Prepare or supervise monthly accounting reports.
• Support VAT / Corporate Tax compliance, if applicable.
• Coordinate with auditors and external advisors when needed.
• Advise on proper documentation and accounting treatment of transactions.
• Communicate with company management in Russian and/or English. 

Work format

We are open to discussing the format:

• part-time;
• monthly retainer;
• outsourced accounting support;
• project-based setup + monthly supervision.

The role does not necessarily require full-time daily bookkeeping, as part of the routine data entry will be handled internally. The key focus is on correct setup, monthly control, review, and professional accounting supervision.

Compensation

Compensation will depend on experience and agreed scope of work.

Possible structure:

• one-time accounting setup fee;
• monthly retainer for regular review and supervision;
• additional hourly rate for extra work outside the agreed scope.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is a practical UAE accountant who can not only process transactions, but also build a clear accounting workflow, explain how documents should be entered, review the quality of bookkeeping, and help the company stay compliant.

Skills

• Experience as an Accountant / Senior Accountant in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of UAE accounting, VAT, and Corporate Tax basics.
• Experience with UAE Free Zone companies is an advantage.
• Experience with accounting software such as Zoho Books, Xero, QuickBooks, FirstBit, or similar.
• Ability to set up accounting processes, not only perform data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Russian language is required.
• English language is required for documents, software, and communication with auditors/advisors.
• Experience with audit preparation is an advantage.
