Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Assistant Storekeeper supports store operations by receiving, issuing, arranging, recording, and controlling materials, spare parts, packaging materials, consumables, uniforms, cleaning items, tools, and other stock items used by Camelicious farm and factory operations. The role ensures accurate stock records, proper storage, timely issuance, and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Issuing Materials

  • Assist in receiving materials from suppliers and verify quantity, item description, delivery note, purchase order, and physical condition.

  • Support proper inspection, counting, labelling, and storage of received items.

  • Issue materials to authorized employees / departments based on approved requisitions or instructions.

  • Ensure all receipts and issues are properly recorded in system / registers as per company procedure.

Inventory Control

  • Maintain stock accuracy through proper arrangement, binning, labelling, and regular physical checks.

  • Assist in stock counting, cycle counts, monthly inventory checks, and reconciliation of stock variances.

  • Monitor minimum stock levels and inform the Storekeeper / Supervisor on low-stock, slow-moving, damaged, expired, or obsolete items.

  • Support segregation and reporting of defective, damaged, expired, or non-moving stock.

Store Organization & Compliance

  • Maintain stores in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

  • Ensure materials are stored according to item type, safety requirements, shelf life, temperature conditions, and FIFO / FEFO principles where applicable.

  • Follow company procedures for handling chemicals, spare parts, packaging materials, consumables, and food-contact items.

  • Ensure restricted items and high-value items are controlled and issued only with proper approval.

Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain delivery notes, goods receipt notes, issue vouchers, stock cards, transfer records, and other store documents.

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Maintenance, Farm, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams for store-related requirements.

  • Assist in preparing stock reports, material status updates, and pending delivery follow-ups.

HSE & Food Safety

  • Follow HSE, hygiene, GMP, and food safety requirements while handling and storing materials.

  • Report unsafe storage, spillages, pest activity, damaged packaging, leakage, or contamination risks immediately.

  • Use proper PPE and material handling equipment where required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

High school / Diploma in Stores, Inventory, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

Experience

1–3 years of storekeeping / warehouse / inventory experience, preferably in FMCG, dairy, manufacturing, farm, or food industry

Technical Skills

Inventory records, material handling, stock counting, FIFO / FEFO, basic Excel, ERP knowledge preferred

Language

Basic English required; Hindi / Urdu advantage

Physical Requirement

Ability to lift / move materials within safe limits and work in store / warehouse environment

  • Store cleanliness and compliance with storage standards.

  • Proper follow-up on low-stock and pending materials.
