Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a video editor who is so good at their craft that they can take shaky, flat, poorly lit, badly paced raw footage and turn it into something that makes people stop, watch, feel something, and share it.
We are looking for someone who understands that editing is direction. It's pacing. It's emotion. It's the hook in the first two seconds. It's the music choice that shifts the entire mood. It's the colour grade that makes a product look premium. It's knowing when to cut and — more importantly — when not to.
You will be responsible for editing all video content across our brand's digital presence, targeting audiences in the UK, Europe, and North America. You will work across multiple video formats, content styles, and platform requirements — all from our Dubai headquarters.
If your edits have ever made someone stop mid-scroll — we want to talk.
What You'll Own:
Multi-Format Video Editing
Edit talking head and interview-style videos — tightening pacing, removing dead air, adding energy, and making the subject compelling even when the delivery wasn't perfect.
Edit static/slideshow-style videos — bringing motion, energy, and visual rhythm to still assets, product imagery, and graphic-driven content.
Edit dynamic moving footage — product videos, lifestyle content, behind-the-scenes, and campaign films with cinematic quality.
Edit short-form content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) with an obsessive understanding of platform-specific hooks, pacing, and retention patterns.
Edit long-form content (YouTube, brand documentaries, educational series) with narrative structure and audience retention in mind.
Edit paid ad creatives across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Google — understanding the difference between organic and performance content.
Footage Salvage & Problem Solving
Transform suboptimal, imperfect, or difficult raw footage into polished, professional final content — this is not optional, this is the job.
Apply AI-assisted upscaling, stabilisation, and noise reduction tools to recover compromised footage.
Clean up and repair audio — removing background noise, echo, breath, and inconsistencies using professional audio tools.
Use colour correction and grading to fix exposure issues, match inconsistent shots, and elevate the visual quality of raw footage to professional standard.
Reframe, crop, and recompose shots creatively to fix framing and composition issues in post.
Colour Grading
Grade footage to create consistent, on-brand visual language across all content.
Match shots within a sequence for colour, exposure, and skin tone consistency.
Apply creative grades appropriate to content type — clean and clinical for healthcare content, warm and aspirational for lifestyle, bold and punchy for ads.
Sound Design & Audio
Select, edit, and mix background music, sound effects, and voiceovers.
Understand music licensing and use royalty-free libraries appropriately (Epidemic Sound, Artist, etc.).
Mix audio to broadcast-standard levels for platform delivery.
Enhance voiceover and dialogue quality using tools like Adobe Audition or Adobe Podcast AI.
Motion Graphics & Visual Enhancements
Add captions, subtitles, and lower thirds — styled, on-brand, and timed with precision.
Create and integrate basic-to-intermediate motion graphics and animated text in After Effects.
Add transitions, effects, and visual elements that enhance — not distract from — the content.
Build reusable motion graphic templates the team can use for consistent branded content.
Trend Awareness & Viral Optimisation
Stay obsessively current with video trends across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
Apply trending audio, pacing techniques, and format structures where appropriate to brand content.
Understand the anatomy of a viral video — the hook, the loop, the payoff — and engineer it intentionally.
Analyse performance data from published content and apply learnings to future edits.
Workflow & Delivery
Manage your own editing queue, file naming, folder structure, and project organisation with zero prompting.
Deliver exports in correct formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios for each platform (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9).
Maintain a clean, organised media library and archive system.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer to ensure video content is visually consistent with broader brand identity.
The Show Reel We Need to See:
Your portfolio is your entire application. We will watch your work before we read your CV.
Bonus points for:
✅ A before/after reel showing raw vs. finished footage — this alone can get you the interview.
✅ Content that has actually performed (views, engagement stats — show us the numbers).
✅ Work in the healthcare, wellness, supplements, or FMCG space.
✅ Examples of paid ad creative edits.
You will not be considered if:
❌ Your portfolio contains only one style or format of video.
❌ Your portfolio has no short-form content.
❌ You cannot show variety across content types.
On AI Tools — The Same Rule Applies Here:
AI editing tools are welcome and encouraged — when used to enhance genuine skill.
✅ Using Topaz to stabilise shaky footage — smart editing.
✅ Using Runway to remove a background cleanly — efficient workflow.
✅ Using Descript to speed up rough cut assembly — intelligent process.
✅ Using AI audio tools to clean up a bad recording — exactly what we want.
What we don't want:
❌ Fully AI-generated video content submitted as edited work.
❌ Reliance on AI to compensate for a lack of actual editing craft.
❌ AI tools used as a shortcut that the editor cannot explain or replicate manually.
Desired Candidate Profile
What We're Looking For
Education
Degree or Diploma in Film & Media Production, Video Editing, Broadcast Media, or related field — preferred but not mandatory if the portfolio is exceptional.
Certifications in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or After Effects — a strong plus.
Experience
5–8 years of professional video editing experience.
Demonstrated experience editing across multiple formats and content types — not just one style.
Experience editing content for international audiences, particularly the UK, Europe, or America.
Experience in the healthcare, wellness, supplements, or FMCG industry — strongly preferred.
Experience editing paid performance ad content — a significant advantage.
Experience with content that has demonstrably performed well — show us the numbers.
The Editor We're Looking For — Specifically
You don't wait for perfect footage. You make footage perfect.
When you get a difficult clip, your first instinct is "how do I fix this" — not "this can't be used".
You understand that the first 2–3 seconds of a video determines everything — and you engineer those seconds with intention.
You feel the rhythm of a cut the way a musician feels a beat — instinctively, physically.
You know the difference between a transition that serves the story and one that shows off your software skills — and you choose the former every time.
You watch trends not to copy them but to understand why they work — then you apply that understanding to your own style.
You are obsessively organised — labelled bins, clean timelines, colour-coded tracks. Your project files are a pleasure to open.
You can receive feedback without ego and push back on feedback that would genuinely hurt the work — with reason, not attitude.
You are platform-native — you understand that a YouTube edit and a TikTok edit are fundamentally different experiences and you approach them accordingly.
You understand that audio is 50% of video — and you treat it that way.
What We Offer:
Salary: AED 8,000 – 12,000/month based on experience and portfolio strength.
Full access to professional-grade hardware and licensed software — we invest in our editors.
The opportunity to build a body of work across international markets.
Creative collaboration with the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer in a tight, high-output creative team.
Fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where extraordinary work gets recognised.
Medical insurance as per UAE law.
Annual leave as per UAE Labour Law.
