Assembly & Testing Specialist (Server Manufacturing)

Role Overview
The Assembly & Testing Specialist will work on the unit assembly line, responsible for server assembly and power-on testing. This role includes initial validation, troubleshooting, and contributing to quality and yield improvements in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform server assembly including CPU, memory, storage, GPU, and PSU installation.
Execute unit-level (power-on) testing to validate system functionality.
Troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues.
Configure and validate systems using BIOS and BMC.
Perform firmware upgrades/downgrades.
Conduct OS-level checks on Windows and Linux (boot validation).
Interpret drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and BOM.
Follow ESD safety standards.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Drive yield improvement and defect reduction using Lean, Kaizen, and poka-yoke.
Technical Requirements
Strong understanding of server components
Working knowledge of BIOS and BMC.
Firmware handling knowledge.
Basic shell/BIOS-level operations.
Hardware troubleshooting skills.
Basic networking/IP knowledge.
Experience with Windows & Linux.
ESD handling knowledge.
Ability to read BOM.
Technical knowledge about PCI cards

Required Qualifications & Competencies
Minimum 3 – 4 years in server/electronics manufacturing.
Experience in power-on testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical documentation.
High attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of quality standards.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing.

Preferred Candidate Profile
Diploma or bachelor’s in computer science or Electronics
Experience in high-volume manufacturing.
