About the role

Our client, a leading single family office, is seeking a managing director to join their team. As a managing director, you will report directly to the principal and lead the investment office and operating platform, overseeing strategy, governance, and day-to-day execution across the family’s portfolio. The ideal candidate will have investment leadership, portfolio construction and asset allocation, stakeholder and governance management, which will align successfully in the organization.

About the requirements

• Lead the development and execution of the family’s investment strategy across public markets, private markets, real assets, and alternative investments
• Oversee deal sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, structuring, and execution for direct investments and co-investments
• Manage external asset managers and advisors, including selection, mandates, performance monitoring, and fee negotiations
• Establish and strengthen governance, risk management, reporting, and controls across the investment and operating platform
• Build and lead a high-performing team and service-provider ecosystem (legal, tax, audit, banking, and fiduciary partners), ensuring confidentiality and best-in-class standards

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred
• 15+ years’ experience in investment management, private equity, asset management, or investment banking with a proven track record of delivering risk-adjusted returns
• Demonstrated leadership in a high-trust environment, with exceptional judgment, discretion, and the ability to engage senior stakeholders and family principals
