Role Purpose To manage and control all plant and equipment operations for infrastructure projects, ensuring machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment are available, safe, compliant, and utilised efficiently to support uninterrupted project delivery and productivity. Key Accountabilities Oversee daily operations of all plant, heavy equipment, and vehicles across assigned projects/sites. Coordinate allocation and mobilisation of plant/equipment in line with project requirements and programme priorities. Monitor plant utilisation, productivity, fuel consumption, downtime, and operator performance; implement corrective actions to improve efficiency. Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in safe working condition through planned preventive maintenance and timely breakdown response. Supervise plant operators, mechanics, drivers, and plant support teams; enforce discipline, competency, and safe operating practices. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, inspections, certifications, permits, and statutory regulations for all plant/equipment operations. Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for spare parts, consumables, repairs, rentals, and vendor support. Maintain accurate records for plant movements, service schedules, inspections, breakdowns, fuel usage, and utilisation reporting. Support project teams with lifting plans, access requirements, logistics coordination, and equipment selection for specific activities. Conduct regular inspections of plant yards, workshops, and site equipment to ensure proper housekeeping and operational readiness. Investigate equipment incidents/breakdowns and implement preventive measures to minimise repeat failures and operational disruption. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Plant Engineering / Heavy Equipment Management (preferred).
• Relevant operator/plant management certifications preferred.
• 10+ years experience managing heavy plant/equipment operations within infrastructure or civil construction projects.
• Strong experience with earthmoving equipment, cranes, generators, asphalt/concrete equipment, utility equipment, and transport fleet operations.
• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience preferred.
