Senior Electrical Engineer Technical Office | MEP Contractor Key Responsibilities:Design & Shop Drawings Prepare, review, and coordinate electrical shop drawings including LV distribution systems, lighting, small power, earthing & lightning protection, fire alarm systems, ELV systems, and auxiliary services. Ensure all electrical designs and drawings comply with approved consultant design, project specifications, employer requirements, local authority regulations, and applicable international standards. Coordinate electrical layouts with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure full integration and constructability. Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and submission tracking logs in coordination with document control systems. Support technical design development, value engineering, and site-driven design modifications where required. Material Submittals & RFIsPrepare and submit electrical material submittals including technical data sheets, compliance statements, type test certificates, and manufacturer documentation. Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely submission and approval of electrical materials and equipment. Prepare, track, and close RFIs while maintaining a live register of technical clarifications. Identify contractual or technical impacts arising from consultant responses and escalate to the Project/Technical Lead where cost or time implications exist. Review technical deviations and ensure alignment with contract requirements and project specifications. BIM & Technical Coordination Develop and manage electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit in accordance with the project BIM Execution Plan. Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure integrated system design. Participate in BIM coordination meetings and produce coordinated, clash-free installation drawings. Ensure electrical containment routes, risers, and plant room layouts are fully coordinated and optimized for installation. Authority Approvals & Consultant Liaison Prepare and submit technical documentation for authority approvals including: DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Development Authority, Trakhees Other relevant utility and telecom providers (e.g., ELV, ICT, district cooling interface where applicable). Follow up on approvals, NOCs, inspection requests, and authority comments until final clearance is achieved. Represent the contractor in technical meetings with consultants, clients, and authorities. Provide clear and professional technical communication in both written and verbal formats. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 8-12 years of experience in MEP contracting, with at least 3 years in a technical office role. Strong experience in UAE projects with authority approvals and utility coordination. Solid knowledge of LV systems, ELV systems, fire alarm systems, lighting design, and power distribution. Proficient in coordination, technical problem-solving, and construction-stage engineering support. Strong command of English (written and spoken). Experience in high-rise, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use developments preferred.
