Our client, a leader in the commodity trading sector, is seeking a trade operations manager - Russian speaker to join their team. As a trade operations manager, you will be responsible for managing the full trade lifecycle, supporting commercial negotiations, and ensuring seamless execution of international commodity transactions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with trading, logistics, finance, legal, and risk teams, contributing to both day-to-day trading operations and longer-term market development strategies, which will align successfully in the organization.

About the requirements

• Minimum 3 – 6 years’ experience in physical commodity trading with a proven track record of closing international trades, with strong commercial judgement and negotiation capability.
• Solid knowledge of import/export processes, logistics operations, and key incoterms.
• Experience working with contracts, letters of credit (LCs), invoices, and shipping documentation with advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and macros.
• Fluent English and Russian (desirable).

About you

• You will manage full-cycle physical commodity trading, aligned with the company’s trading portfolio.
• Participate in commercial negotiations and support contract conclusion and execution, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate closely with logistics, operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure timely and accurate deal execution.
• Maintain and develop trading models and analytics in Excel, working with finance and risk teams to monitor P&L performance.
• Ensure strong understanding and management of commodity trading documentation, including bills of lading, cargo insurance, customs declarations, and related trade documents.
