About the role

We are currently supporting a leading global consulting firm in hiring experienced stormwater engineering professionals for a 6–9 month engagement based in Abu Dhabi.

This opportunity sits within a PMO / client engineer function, supporting large-scale infrastructure and flood management programs. We are seeking highly experienced professionals with strong technical expertise in stormwater drainage, combined with proven stakeholder management and project delivery capabilities.

About the requirements

In this role, you will:

• Lead and support stormwater drainage and flood management initiatives across major urban infrastructure projects
• Perform hydraulic and hydrological modeling, analysis, and technical reviews
• Contribute to drainage master planning and flood mitigation strategies
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders, including government entities
• Ensure adherence to GCC and international engineering standards and regulatory frameworks
• Support project governance, including tendering processes, technical evaluations, and risk management
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and delivery performance
• Promote sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) and best practices

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (mandatory)
• Extensive experience (15–25+ years) in stormwater, drainage, and infrastructure projects
• Strong expertise in hydraulic/hydrological modeling and large-scale project delivery
• PMP certification (required for at least some roles)
• Proven background working with government entities and utility providers
• Experience with leading global engineering consultancies (e.g., Atkins, Jacobs, AECOM, WSP)
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills
