Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and manage international commodity trading operations across Copper, Aluminium, Steel, Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals.
Develop strategic relationships with global suppliers, manufacturers, smelters, refiners, traders, and end buyers.
Conduct commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, contract structuring, and execution of high-value commodity transactions.
Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for trade finance, commodity finance, and working capital facilities.
Structure, negotiate, and execute various trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees (BGs), SBLCs, Documentary Collections, and Trade Credit Insurance.
Handle all LC types including Sight, Usance, Back-to-Back, Transferable, Revolving, Standby, Confirmed, Unconfirmed, Red Clause, and Green Clause LCs.
Ensure compliance with UCP 600, ICC Rules, SWIFT Standards, Incoterms, and international banking regulations.
Coordinate closely with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and finance teams for smooth commercial operations.
Manage import-export documentation including Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Insurance Documents, and Customs Documentation.
Oversee shipment execution, vessel coordination, freight negotiations, customs clearance, and supply chain activities.
Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, commodity price, and banking risks.
Support management in developing sourcing strategies, commodity trading expansion plans, and commercial growth initiatives.
Monitor international commodity markets, pricing trends, freight costs, and geopolitical developments impacting trade.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, International Trade, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
MBA in Finance, International Business, Supply Chain, Commodity Trading, or equivalent preferred.
15–25+ years of experience in commodity trading, trade finance, treasury, banking coordination, and international commerce.
Strong expertise in Metals Trading, particularly Copper, Aluminium, Steel, and Industrial Commodities.
Extensive hands-on experience in Trade Finance, LC Structuring, Banking Negotiations, and Commodity Financing.
Proven experience handling large-value import/export transactions and international trade operations.
Strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and trade finance providers.
Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
GCC/UAE experience will be highly preferred.
