Job Description: Facade Project Engineer (Bilingual: Chinese / English)

Department: Project Engineering / Facade Division

Experience Level: 5 to 10 Years

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly competent Facade Project Engineer specializing in curtain wall systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design development, material procurement, fabrication yards, and on-site execution. Given our project parameters and regulatory environment, Dubai Municipality (DM) approval and professional fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English are highly preferred to facilitate technical submittals, authority handovers, and seamless communication across our international supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Shop Drawing Review: Review architectural drawings, structural calculations, and shop drawings for unitized and stick curtain wall systems to ensure full compliance with project specifications.

• Authority & Code Compliance: Ensure all facade designs, material selections, and calculations strictly comply with Dubai Municipality (DM) regulations, green building standards (Al Sa'fat), and Civil Defense fire safety codes.

• Material Procurement & Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate technical submittals, extrusion die reviews, and fabrication schedules with aluminum and glass manufacturing facilities in mainland China and local vendors.

• Site Installation & Alignment: Oversee on-site facade installation, ensuring bracket alignment, embedment installations, thermal breaks, and waterproofing details match approved mock-ups.

• Interface Coordination: Manage design interfaces, structural boundaries, and physical tolerances between the concrete/steel building frame and incoming facade panels.

• Testing & Quality Control: Coordinate factory production audits and performance mock-up testing (air infiltration, water penetration, and wind load tests) at third-party laboratories.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Authority Status: Dubai Municipality (DM) Approved Engineer status is highly preferred (G+12 or Unlimited license holder for Structural/Civil engineering).

• Curtain Wall Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Unitized Systems, Stick Systems, Structural Glazing, Spider Glass, and Skylight engineering.

• Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on command of AutoCAD. Familiarity with Revit (BIM) or Rhino is a distinct advantage.

• Calculations & Specs: Solid understanding of wind load calculations, thermal performance ($U$-values), and structural silicone tracking.

2. Language & Communication Skills

• Mandarin Chinese: Full professional proficiency (spoken and written) to technical levels, capable of handling engineering drawings, factory fabrication logs, and supplier contracts.

• English: Full professional proficiency (spoken and written) for site coordination, writing official contractual letters, and conducting technical meetings with consultants and clients.

3. Experience & Education

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (attested for UAE Society of Engineers / DM registration).

• Experience: Strictly 5 to 10 years of dedicated experience in facade engineering, with a strong background working for premium facade subcontractors or tier-one main contractors on high-rise residential or commercial projects.
