Roles & Responsibilities

Site Engineer – Electrical (33kV & 132kV Cabling)

Experience: Minimum 5 years in HV cable installation, testing & commissioning, preferably SEWA/DEWA/TAQA certified

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and execute laying, jointing, and termination of 33kV/132kV HV cables as per SEWA/DEWA/TAQA standards

• Coordinate cable route surveys, trenching, ducting, and pulling activities on site

• Oversee HV cable testing (IR, VLF, sheath, partial discharge) and prepare test documentation for utility approval

• Liaise with SEWA/DEWA/TAQA for permits, inspections, and NOCs

• Prepare method statements, RAMS, ITPs, as-built drawings, and cable schedules

• Enforce PTW, LOTO, and HV safety procedures on site

• Supervise technicians, jointers, and subcontractors; report daily progress to Project Manager

• Conduct QA/QC checks at each installation stage

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, ensuring a strong theoretical foundation.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical site engineering, demonstrating practical expertise.

• Professional certifications such as PMP or NEBOSH, showcasing commitment to project management and safety.

• Experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors.

• SEWA/DEWA/TAQA approved certification for HV works (preferred)
